Omnivore’s Cookbook is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Measures to support accessibility
Omnivore’s Cookbook takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of Omnivore’s Cookbook:
- We’re trying our best to add Alt-text on all the photos. Some of the old photos are waiting for update and we are trying our best to finish them by the end of 2021.
- We worked Lindsay Humes to design this website using WAVE Extension, AXE Extension, and Google’s Lighthouse to comply with the latest accessibility regulation and we’re keep working together to resolve any future issues.
- Our videos currently only have embedded subtitles but we’re trying our best to add closed captions by the end of 2022.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Omnivore’s Cookbook is partially conformant with WCAG 2.0 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
